SOUTH CHEROKEE Parent Code of Conduct
- I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, and officials at every game, practice or other youth sporting event.
- I will learn the rules of the game and the policies of the league.
- I will remember that the game is for the players and not for the adults, that winning should never be placed ahead of the emotional and physical well-being of any child.
- I will teach my child that doing one’s best is more important than winning and will never yell at or ridicule any child for making a mistake.
- I will support coaches and officials working with my child in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all and will never question, discuss or confront coaches during the game or in front of my child or the other players.
- I will support a sports environment that is free of drugs, tobacco and alcohol and will refrain from their use at all youth events.
- I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, fans and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed or ability.
- I will help my child enjoy youth sports by doing whatever I can to help the team have a positive, pleasurable and memorable experience.
- I will respect the property of others including the South Cherokee facilities and will teach my child to do the same.
- I understand that if I act in an unsportsmanlike manner or in any way that is detrimental to the league, a player, official, coach, volunteer, recreation personnel, or another spectator, I will be asked to leave and may be subject to further disciplinary action. I further agree to comply with any appropriate park actions and decisions regarding such behavior, and I do hereby waive, release, absolve, indemnify, and agree to hold harmless the local league, chartering organization, board members, and the coaches for any claim arising out
